A ledger, not a pamphlet
IslesLedger is a civic transparency platform. It is designed to be read in one sitting and queried like a register — votes, money, housing, hospitals, schools, planning, Europe, reports.
The British Isles share a sea and a tangle of parliaments. Public money crosses those lines more quietly than the votes do. This site puts both on one desk, with Europa as the neighbouring ledger for NGO and migration grants.
Method
Nations, not a blur
England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland are first-class jurisdictions. A Commons division is not a Dáil vote; a council in Belfast does not run housing.
Money with a source
Every line names a payer. Home Office contracts sit apart from AMIF, and euro amounts are labelled as euro.
Citizen notes are local
On the Ground filings in this preview stay on the device. A live edition would add verification, not an anonymous firehose.
Ready for feeds
Records use stable ids, chambers, dates and party splits so Hansard, TheyWorkForYou, OpenSpending and the Oireachtas API can land without a redesign.
What you are looking at
Office-holders and seat totals are current as of 25 August 2026 (Burnham premiership, May 2026 Holyrood and Senedd results, Dublin coalition). Votes and spending lines are structured demonstration records — real chambers, plausible session items — not a substitute for Hansard or audited accounts.
